Paul Crouch's Heretical "Plant A Seed"
Teaching
Well the TBN beg-a-thon is being broadcast across America again this
week and one can only marvel at the garbage that continues to come
forth from these wicked people.
In recent months Paul Crouch has been promoting a particularly
loathsome twist on the heretical "Seed Faith" teaching.
Crouch claims that the first one to plant a seed because he had a
need was God himself!
The way he tells it, God had a need. He had lost His first son Adam,
so He planted a seed, Jesus. And of course he reaped a harvest of
millions of sons and daughters.
Here is a quote from TBN's latest (August 04) newsletter
"Do you have a need? God's law is simple and clear: Plant a seed -
just like God did when He had a need. God needed sons and daughters,
so He planted His very best - His only begotten Son - God could not
have given more! As we have taught often, what did He receive? You
know: MILLIONS of sons and daughters. Give God a seed - your best -
and watch Him meet your need, great or small."
Paul Crouch claims he got this teaching directly from God. He says
that at one point he (Crouch) was discouraged because of all the
heresy hunters accusing him of only wanting money so he went to God
in prayer. He asked God how he should refute their claims and this
is what God spoke to him.
First let me say that I have no doubt that Paul Crouch heard this
from God.
Jer 17:10
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man
according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
You see, Paul Crouch didn't go to God seeking the truth. He went to
God seeking justification for his own ways. Paul Crouch is full of
covetousness and idolatry so God answered him according to the idols
in his heart
Ezek 14:4
Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord
GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in
his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his
face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that
cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
As to the idea that God had a need and so planted a seed, the word
of God clearly refutes this claim.
Did God actually lose anything?
Psalm 50:9-12 NKJV
I will not take a bull from your house, Nor goats out of your folds.
For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand
hills. I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of
the field are Mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the
world is Mine, and all its fullness.
Did God need to plant a seed in order to get sons and daughters?
Math 3:9
And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our
father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to
raise up children unto Abraham.
God is God. He is not a man having needs. He didn’t
lose anything. All is His. If He were hungry He wouldn’t tell us. If
He wanted sons and daughters He wouldn't have to plant a seed to get
them.
Did God establish a "law" for us to plant a seed if we have a need?
Math 6:31-33
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall
we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these
things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that
ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of
God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto
you.
Luke 12:24
Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither
have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye
better than the fowls?
Did Jesus say plant a seed when you have a need?
No he said when you have a need, TAKE NO THOUGHT!
In fact he said to look at the ravens, they NEITHER SOW NOR
REAP and God takes care of them! How much more will He care
for you!
2 Peter 2:1
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there
shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in
damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring
upon themselves swift destruction.
By promoting this damnable heresy, Paul Crouch shows himself to be a
false teacher who denies (contradicts) the Lord Jesus.
2Peter 2:2-3
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the
way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall
they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now
of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Paul Crouch uses covetousness to make merchandise of people. He
traffics in the souls of men (Rev 18:11-13)
He is bound for destruction if he doesn't repent.
