Doyle Davidson – Apostle or Liar Part 4
Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. Mal 2:14
Doyle Davidson has built for himself a fantasy around the idea that God separated him from his wife Patti in 1985. Since that time, Davidson has engaged in a 17 year sexual relationship with the wife of another man. To this day he claims that woman has been his “wife” since 1987 even though she never divorced or left her husband nor did Patti divorce or leave him. Although there is no scriptural basis for the Lord doing this and Patti being deceased is unable to tell her side of the story, some of Davidson’ sycophants remain steadfast in their loyalty to him.
In Revelation chapter 2, Jesus commends the church at

Dear Lisa,
I want to remind us of the things that God has required us to walk in and share with one another.
Patti and I were married June 5, 1952. We walked together for 18 years and had good financial success, and we got along with one another pretty well. I am not going to talk about the flesh.
In 1970 we both started to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. We immediately had war in our house. We worked through day by day each problem as they arose. I am not going to talk about the Argyle days. They were very difficult to say the least. Following Argyle we lived in
In 1977 we moved back to
Here it is clear by his own words that as far back as 1977, Doyle was making some type of judgment about his ability to love his wife. He does not make it clear as to what the basis of that judgment was. He does say that they both began to follow the Lord in 1970. One would assume that meant they were two believers joined together in marriage at that point. Perhaps his ability or inability to love Patti was based at least in part on their financial well being. He does seem to link his getting along well with Patti to finances both from the beginning of their marriage and again once they had returned to
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, Eph 5:25-26
Whatever Davidson’s basis for loving or not loving his wife, it does not seem to line up with the scriptural command for husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church. Christ loved the church and gave himself for us while we were yet sinners. He continues to love us even when we doubt him. Unlike Davidson’s love for Patti, Jesus love for us remains steadfast even when we go astray. This is the same love husbands are commanded to have for their wives.
Returning to the narrative.
In 1980 God sent us to
Now we see that Davidson provides what he believes to be a viable excuse for his inability to love his wife. According to him, a spirit had come between them. And according to Davidson this was all part of God’s plan to perfect Doyle’s faith and love. It is unclear exactly how or why God would separate a man from his wife as a basis for perfecting that mans faith and love. Davidson gives no scriptural basis for this supposed act of God. At this point we are expected simply to take his word for it.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1John 4:1
It is not uncommon for evil spirits to attack Christian marriages particularly the marriages of Christian ministers. In most cases however, those involved will seek to overcome the spiritual attack through prayer and counsel. In this case it seems that within a four month period, Doyle decided to give up on any thoughts of reconciliation or overcoming that evil spirit. By January of 1985 he had decided that the whole thing was ordained by God and the answer was to live separate lives.
It is interesting to note in all this that the entire problem is laid directly on Patti’s shoulders. She was the one ‘walking in a false anointing’ while he was ‘walking in the Holy Spirit’. He was never deceived, it was all her fault. Even though he was the spiritual head of the home and pastor of the church, he bore no responsibility at all for this ‘false anointing’ that Patti had loosed among the flock. Anyone who has listened to Davidson will recognize this as typical of his belief system. Everyone else is wrong but he is never wrong. Everyone else is lying but he has never lied about anything.
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. Rom 15:1-2
I wonder why, if he is the great apostle and prophet he claims to be that he didn’t exercise his God ordained authority to overcome that false anointing that had taken over his wife. Why did he not bear the infirmity (weakness) of his wife who he claims was so weak in the faith that she allowed a false anointing to enter their ministry? Today, Davidson claims to be able to exercise spiritual authority over not only principalities and powers but even people who speak against him. Apparently that authority did not apply to his own home and wife. Or, maybe he was just looking for an excuse to be loosed from his wife of 33 years.
Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God……..
Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. 1Cor 7:24& 27
Back to Davidson’s self justifying message to Lisa;
In February 1986 God instructed me out of the book of Hosea 3:1 and 3, to do as Hosea did. I obeyed God reluctantly, as I do this day. This was all done to perfect my love and faith toward his people. I did exactly as it was recorded in the book of Hosea. I want to tell you and all the people that read this that the anointing of God was so strong in my spirit, that I could barely breath. You can read Job 32, where Elihu is speaking if you want to know how I felt. With this experience walking in the anointing of the Holy Spirit and other experiences as well I was ready for the next step, not knowing what it was.(I want to say to all of you that judge me, you do not have a clue what God has required of me. I do not even judge myself. It is the Lord that judges me.)
So now after a year of living a life of separation in the same house as his wife, Doyle Davidson finds what he believes to be a scriptural justification for his actions.
Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine. So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley: And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee. Hosea 3:1-3
The story of Hosea and his harlot wife Gomer is the story of God’s love toward his adulterous wife
Eventually God instructs Hosea to go and buy back his wayward wife just as one would purchase a slave. Now that Hosea has purchased Gomer he returns her to their home and tells her they will live together but not as husband and wife, yet the story does not end there. It continues with God’s judgment but ends with the ultimate reconciliation of
Davidson wants to apply this scenario to his own life and claim this was the way that God removed Patti from being his wife. While this may sound reasonable to his undiscerning disciples it is obvious that there are significant differences in the biblical account and the circumstances as they applied to Doyle and Patti Davidson.
To begin with Doyle has never claimed that Patti was anything other than a believer. As stated above they both were believers when they began together in the ministry so unlike Hosea he did not take a wife from harlotry. He wants to claim that Patti committed spiritual adultery by submitting to a false anointing but since she never actually left him or made any attempt to end the marriage he never really had to ‘buy’ her back. He simply used this scenario to put away his wife secretly. Since he had no real scriptural basis for divorce (physical fornication – see Mat 5:32, Mat 19:9, & Mark 10:11), this was a way for Davidson to justify his separation from Patti in his own mind without having to reveal it to his congregation.
Finally if Patti Davidson had committed spiritual adultery by worshipping a false God, and if she never repented of that sin, she would have been considered an unbeliever and an idolater before the Lord. This, if true could have been cause for God to break up the marriage based on 1Cor 7:15
But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
I believe that a case can be made for marriages of believers to unbelievers to be ended on this basis. But first, the unbeliever must physically depart. If the unbeliever is pleased to stay in the marriage the believer should not seek to end it.
But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 1Cor 7:12
Cases like these allow for the sovereignty of God. When a believer is unequally yoked to an unbeliever, God may choose to allow that marriage to stand in order that the unbeliever may be sanctified (set apart) by the believing spouse (see 1Cor 7:14). Or God in his sovereign will may choose to effectively annul the marriage and loose the believer from the bondage of the unequal yoke by causing the unbeliever to depart.
One more important difference needs to be addressed here. In the story of Hosea, there is no indication that the prophet ever took another wife. Davidson wants us to believe that God was once again playing out a prophetic scenario in his life just as he did in Hosea’s. Patti represented the rebellious house of
In the new prophetic play, Lisa represents the rebellious church. Just as the church has gone into apostasy toward the Lord, Lisa has rebelled in her “marriage” to Davidson. Now the love of Christ is unrelenting in Davidson. He insists on loving and pursuing Lisa long after she has returned to her legitimate husband. One must wonder why these commandments to love Lisa even in her rebellion did not apply to Patti.
The bottom line though is that none of the scenarios above can apply to the marriage of Doyle and Patti Davidson. Even when she died, Doyle stated to his congregation that Patti had gone to heaven meaning that she was not an unbeliever. She never sought to depart from the marriage nor has Davidson ever implied that she committed physical fornication or adultery meaning that he had no justification whatsoever for putting her away. He simply decided he no longer wanted to be married to her and his own wicked heart deceived him into thinking God was making a way for him to do just that.
I would like to propose a much more likely scenario for Doyle Davidson’s delusional account of the dissolution of his marriage. It is found in these scriptures.
Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols; Ezek 14:3-4
Doyle Davidson came to God repeatedly with an idol in his heart. He refused to turn from that idol of self will. He refused to love the wife of his youth as God commanded him to do. He was not satisfied with her and longed for another. The word tells us that God is longsuffering and not willing that any of us should perish. Many of us have struggled with sin for many years while God continued to draw us back in repentance to him. If we refused to repent, the Lord would gently chastise us. If that gentle correction failed to draw us back, the Lord will use much stronger chastisement on us.
And if that strong chastisement fails to produce repentance, the Lord will eventually send strong delusion. He will give us what we seek even though it will not be for our ultimate good. We will be convinced it is God’s will, and in fact it will be because he will have sent it. But it will not be for our benefit but for our destruction.
And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people
Lisa, this brings you and me together. You have been told all of this so it is not new to you. I love you. On August 28,1987 I was awakened about 3 a.m. with the anointing, which I am very familiar with. In that anointing was two verses of scripture Psalm 27:4, “delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires (asking or requesting) of thine heart. v5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” With those two verses my darling, was your name. I laid there in that bed for one hour, while God was convincing me that it was Him giving you to me. I got up and read those two verses, and I could see that for me to get you I had to ask. I was so reluctant to ask, but I had a lot of experience with that anointing. I knew I had trusted that anointing and it never failed me. I thought I must do this. I said, ok I want her as you have offered. It took me almost two months to be convinced; it was God after I had asked. Why? I did not want to miss him, and I didn’t.
I am going to publish this, and I will write more later.
I love you
Doyle
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2Thes 2:11-12
God’s word is true and is no lie. Doyle Davidson was called as an apostle and a prophet yet today he is a deceived prophet. God has deceived him and God has determined destruction upon him. The Lord has used Davidson’s own mouth to expose his sin to the world.
The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. Is 3:9
Since the time he made his adultery known to the world, Doyle Davidson has come under the judgment of God. His ministry has begun to unravel. Many of his followers and closest associates have left, as well they should. His money is drying up. Those who remain associated with him have also come under God’s judgment seeing their businesses fail, their health destroyed, marriages come under attack along with many other disasters and tragedies occurring in their lives. All these things are seen by them as attacks of the devil because of their stand for the truth. Davidson truly believes he is being persecuted for righteousness sake. And that my friends is strong delusion.
Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. Is 3:11
Spiritually, God has already removed Davidson’s ministry from him and given it to another. Just like the story of Saul and David in 1 Samuel 15 & 16, God rejected Saul from being King over
Soon, God will remove Doyle Davidson from his television broadcast and his pulpit. And when He does, it will happen in such a way that everyone will know that it was God who did it. Then, a true fear of the Lord will return to many who hear and see these things.
